Back in the summer of 2018 TMT Trio was commissioned by Cleveland sculptor and photographer Jerry Birchfield to compose a piece of music for his show at the Akron Art Museum, "Asleep in the Dust." (Another installment from the series "Yes, They Were Made to Level") What came out of this collaboration was a two hour piece of music that left such an impression on the artists that they knew they didn't want to simply end the collaboration that day, but rather, expound upon it. That fall TMT went into the studio to record their second album and in one continuous 2 hour take recorded "Asleep in the Dust." The composition deals with Jerry's art directly, reflecting upon the exhaustive process in which he creates his mixed media art by re-working the same simple materials over and over again until they are unrecognizable and have been made into something altogether knew.
